Newly promoted Generals decorated

The army has decorated three senior officers who were recently promoted.Among them are Maj. Gen. Silver Kayemba, Maj. Gen. Charles Angina and Col. Stephen Muzeyi Sabiiti.

Angina is the army chief of Staff  Land Forces while Kayemba has been posted to the UN peacekeeping department.  Sabiiti is now a commander in the Special Forces Group formerly Presidential Guard Brigade.

The colourful ceremony held at the defence ministry headquarters in Mbuya was presided over by Lt. Gen. Ivan Koreta, the deputy chief of defence forces.

Speaking at the ceremony Koreta congratulated the officers upon their promotion but warned them of challenges ahead. He said promotion is not fun but additional responsibility.

The officers were accompanied by relatives and  their spouses.
