A former student of Naalya Senior Secondary School has petitioned court seeking to block Makerere University Law School from starting academic year 2014 and 2015 for failure to admit him

Johney Manzi Murungi filed his petition at the Kampala High Court through Byenkya, Kihika and Company Advocates.

He is seeking for a judicial review of the decision, saying he should be admitted as a government sponsored student on Bachelor of Laws degree programme.

He is seeking a court injunction restraining the university management from commencing or proceeding with the Bachelor of Law Degree programme for the academic year starting this month until court hears his petition.

He also wants a court order compelling the university management to pay him costs and allow the admitted students on the said programmes to continue with their studies.

Manzi through his lawyer argued that he will suffer damage if an injunction is not issued to restrain Makerere University.

“I sat for the pre- entry examination and scored 63% thereby emerging as the 36thbest performing candidate at the sitting,”Murungi said.
