Mubende district Police chief Enock Abaine said, “A speeding lorry from Kampala had earlier knocked down the cyclist before the King’s convoy arrived.

The driver was trying to avoid the cyclist at Katabalanga village near Mubende NTC who was lying injured in the road causing the convoy’s lead car to veer off the road, ramming into a nearby tree.”

He noted the lead car, a double cabin red in colour with personalized number plates had eight people on board with the six survivors sustaining injuries.
