Romano Ogwal is a major doubt for the Saturday Bamburi Rugby Super Series final against Kenya’s Rhinos in Nairobi.

But the good news for the Rwezori side is that Brian Odongo, who missed the semi-final through injury, will be able to make the Nairobi trip.

Ogwal fractured his inner right finger during the titanic 25-0 semi-final win over the Cheetahs at Legends Kampala Rugby Club last Saturday.

“It’s true he fractured his finger but we are trying our best to stabilise it because he is an asset to the team,” physiotherapist Benjamin Temper explained.

He added that a fractured finger always needs between three to four weeks to heal but that they will find ways of giving it support, and if it works out then the star will be fielded.

“We will try out our plan before Thursday (today) and see how he feels. At the moment it’s too early to declare him out of the final,” Temper stressed.

Rwenzori coaching crew of Fred Mudoola and John Musoke are at the moment trying to identify the best possible replacement from the available locks that include, Timothy Ddumba, Joel Anguyo, Ronald Musajjaagulannyago and Steven Ogwete.
