Last week we broke the news that Pastor Mark Kigozi, the erstwhile Watoto East Church (former Kampala Pentecostal Church) pastor had started his own, Real Life Church, at UMA Hall, Lugogo.

Apparently, the news must have rubbed his former boss, Watoto senior pastor, Gary Skinner, the wrong way.

In a recorded message played at all Watoto Church services last Sunday, Skinner said he loved Mark and his wife, Maureen, but had to let them go after he failed to help them to settle their spiritual and marital struggles.

He added that at the time he let the two go, he advised them against starting their own church because, they are not ready to lead one.

He disclosed that he heard Mark had approached members of his congregation to fundraise for and even join their church.

Skinner added that whoever intended to leave Watoto for Mark’s church was free to do so, but would not have Skinner’s and Watoto Church’s blessing!
But, Mark has posted nothing but praises on his Facebook (internet social networking site) about his mentor and former senior pastor.

Apparently, he has already paid a year’s rent for the venue of his new church.

We do not know how many people he will get tomorrow but judging by the number of friends he has on Facebook (about 400), we would say he is off to a good start. Watch this space.
