LIRA-The Inspector General of Government (IGG) has asked the district council clerk to convene a meeting to discuss the firing of Martin Alengo over abuse of office and conflict of interest. Alengo was the councillor for Amugo sub-county. In a March 23 letter, the IGG, Raphael Baku, said they had received complaints about shoddy road maintainance works which Alengo was in charge of.

Rotary donates boreholes
GULU-The residents of Aburamwonya and Bongotiet villages in Lakwana and Palaro sub-counties have received boreholes worth sh40m from the Rotary Club of Baines Bridge. Commissioning the boreholes recently, Gulu Woman MP Betty Ocan told the residents to protect the water sources.
