THE First Lady and state minister for Karamoja Affairs, Mrs. Janet Museveni, has requested the international community to give priority to Karamoja and northern Uganda when awarding educational scholarships.

THE First Lady and state minister for Karamoja Affairs, Mrs. Janet Museveni, has requested the international community to give priority to Karamoja and northern Uganda when awarding educational scholarships.
She said the move would enable the residents acquire skills, which they would use to serve their regions more effectively.
“There is need to train professionals who will work in those areas since many people do not want to work there,†Mrs. Museveni said.
She made the remarks while meeting ambassadors from Cuba, Belgium, Egypt, Sweden and Denmark at State House, Entebbe on Monday.
According to a statement from State House, the discussion centered on joint efforts to uplift the welfare of Ugandans.
