THE national council for higher education has certified a number of programmes at All Saints University Lango, a private university in Lira district, founded by the Church of Uganda.
Briefing journalists at the campus located at St Augustine community centre on Friday, the university vice-chancellor, Prof. Fred Opio, said they hoped to be given a charter in the next few years.
Opio cited social works and social administration, public administration and management, procurement and logistics as some of the courses.
“The university is like any other because we can award degrees without limitation,†he said.
All Saints opened in 2009 with 95 students but Opio said the number had increased to 300.
He said students studying certificate courses had graduated this year and they expect those enrolled for degrees to graduate in 2011.
