THE Uganda Lawn Tennis Association has returned to its secretariat at the Lugogo Tennis Centre after settling their dispute with National Council of Sports (NCS) over rent.

“We are glad to be back at the facility. We are grateful to the sports minister and chairman of the council for the way they have handled the matter,” John Nagenda, ULTA chairman, said.

Nagenda said they had come to an agreement to lease out the restaurant and bar and at a fee to paid as part of the rent proceeds to NCS.

The tennis body was on March 6 thrown out by court bailiffs on the orders of NCS over rent arrears amounting to sh30m. They were also accused of mismanaging the tennis facility.

In a Monday meeting chaired by sports state minister Charles Bakkabulindi and attended by NCS chairman Anthony Katamba, it was decided that the tennis body would hire out the restaurant, bar and the billboards and remit 10% to council.
