National Water should be clear about what they want

EDITOR—I wonder how the National Water and Sewerage Corporation NWSC) field staff operate. For the second time in just two months, these people have disconnected my water supply when I do not owe them a coin!

The first time they came, I had paid at Barclays Garden City in the morning, only to go back home in the evening and find the water disconnected. I went to their office on 6th Street Industrial Area with the documents and they came and reconnected me.

Hardly two months later, on Monday, they came back and disconnected me for a bill I had settled on July 20 at Barclays Lugogo. The receipt was at home and my house-help showed it to the man who signed on the disconnection order as Osward.

If Osward was as keen to do the right thing as he may want us to believe, why coudn’t he see that, apart from the small error in the dates on the deposit slip, the bank stamp bore a clear date of July 20 when the money was deposited?

When someone came to reconnect me, he found Osward had broken the pipe and the water was gashing out! If NWSC does not want its customers to pay in the bank, let them state it clearly so that we can all queue at their offices to pay for the service.

Or are they in a hurry to disconnect us so that we can pay a reconnection fee? How do you explain this nauseating behaviour?
Come on, NWSC, you can do better than that!
