THE campaign to rekindle handball’s continental glory has started with the naming of the national women’s team, ahead of the Zone V All Africa Games qualifying tournament. But the Uganda Amateur Handball Federation (UAHF) still needs sh10m to make the trip a success. UAHF entered only the women’s team in the qualifiers set for Ethiopia.

Off to Kenya
UGANDAN cyclists will participate in the year’sfirst international encounter this weekend. The national flag was handed to the team yesterday at Lugogo. Former champion Dan Miiro captained a team of six riders on Wednesday. The riders left by road for Nairobi to participate in Tour De Bush.

NAIVASHA’s Don White won the Uganda Laser and Optimist sailing championship last Sunday at Victoria Nyanza Sailing Club Kaazi. The Uganda Laser championship attracted 37 sailors with three coming from Kenya and Tanzania. For the first time, they organised an Optimist event that attracted eight participants.
