KYAMBOGO University has designed a computer package aimed at equipping teachers on upgrading courses with basic skills in Information Communication Technology (ICT).
“The trainees are learning to use ICT and using ICT for learning. Since the most current textbooks and journals are hard to come by, the students can now supplement the material they get from the library with up to date materials from the Internet,†Stephen Kasumba the ICT coordinator said.
Kasumba said it has become increasingly important for teachers to be computer literate in order to keep abreast with new teaching innovations. With effect from next academic year, the capacity of the central laboratory would be increased to meet the demand.
