MPIGI — KCC has started approving building plans of churches and mosques in the city for free. All building plans set to KCC for approval are normally accompanied by a submission fee, but the mayor, Ssebaana Kizito on Tuesday said KCC had waived the submission fee for religious establishments.

Warrant out
KAMPALA – Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of an employee of the Office of President on charges of careless driving and injuring a pedestrian. Grade two Magistrate Lydia Mugambe said Isaac Nyakuni did not respond to previous summons. Isaac Nyakuni an engineer allegedly knocked down Stephen Bonyo Mupere on Entebbe Road in January.

Gun got
MASAKA – The Police have recovered a gun, which had been robbed from a policeman, who was also stabbed while guarding a primary school. The Police arrested three Godfrey Kasagga, Tom Migano and Aloysius Ntale in an operation. The regional CID officer, Joel Okwir said the suspects led the Police to where they had hidden the gun.

KAMPALA – Makerere University will release admission lists of privately sponsored students in mid-August, the Academic Registrar, Sebastian Ngobi, has said. The selection is going on, he said.
