THE national championship leader goes into the rally torn between the desire to win the prestigious event and being cautious of jeopardising his title aspirations.
Lumala (left), 400 points — 80 ahead of Lubega, will still go into the final event of the season next month with a comfortable lead even if he settles for second this weekend.
Many local competitors regard him as the favourite in the rally that has eluded him in the past.
He will certainly miss his long time co-driver Moses Matovu in the crucial event.
After impressive performances in the UMC and Rwanda Mountain Gorilla rallies — one has every reason to bet on Lumala.
