Museveni To Improve Army

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has said the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) will be improved to boost their capacity in defending the country.

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has said the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) will be improved to boost their capacity in defending the country.
brigadier Julius Oketa, the UPDF 5th division chief of logistics and engineering, delivered the message on behalf of Museveni at Acholi Pii in Pader district recently.
Oketa was officiating at a ceremony where the former district operation training officer (DOTO), Col. Clovis Kalyabara, was handing over the office to Lt. Col Etyang.
Oketa said, “plans to improve the logistics and welfare of the troops are in advanced stages. We want the army to be moer effective.”
Kalyabara had been the 5th division first DOTO. Etyang has been the military assistant to former deputy army commander Major General Joram Mugume.
Etyang has also been on the Government’s Burundi peace team.
