FIFA has picked Rajab Kisekka as the first Ugandan to officiate as match inspector. Kisekka left for Lilongwe, Malawi, yesterday to officiate in the return leg match between Malawi and Ethiopia as a FIFA match Inspector. FIFA introduced match inspectors after the June scuffle between Uganda and Rwanda at Namboole.

Gala launch
UGANDA Sports Press Association (USPA) will today unveil the sponsors for the sportsman of the year 2003 gala set for February 28, 2004. The function is set for Hotel Africana, Committee Room B at 11.00am. The hotel will also be hosting the association’s monthly meetings starting from next month.

Uganda out
UGANDA has pulled out of the Korea Ambassador taekwondo Cup due December 14-21 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The local governing body, Uganda Taekwondo Association (UTA) had named a squad of 20 players to start non-residential training at Lugogo. “It won’t be possible for us to send a team. We are time barred and won’t be able to get sponsors in the short time left,” Hakim Ahimbisibwe, the general secretary of UTA, said.
