UGANDA Export Promotion Board (UEPB) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Export Promotion Council of Kenya reports Ricks Kayizzi and Doreen Kansiime.

According to a statement issued recently, the agreement is geared at increasing collaboration between the two countries and utilise changes taking place as a result of regional integration.

“The agreement underscores the importance of a regional approach in trade promotional matters in the spirit of the East African Community (EAC) and puts emphasis on encouraging private sector cooperation in the manufacturing export sector,” read part of the statement.

The statement says implementation of the agreement has already began and both parties have agreed on an East African approach in seeking donor support for export development projects.

Florence Kata UEPB executive director is the lead executive for the project, while Kwesi Ahwoi, a common wealth secretariat consultant is the coordinator.
