So far, more than four lots of such students have successfully trained in this field and are out in the field. However, it is surprising that they have been ignored by the Government bodies that should have absorbed them to monitor the activities of petroleum exploration and production in the country.

These people are relevant in the Production Department and that for Geological Survey and Mines both under the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

The reason always given by the interview panel of the public service is that the course is not known to them! How can people fail to get jobs just because of the ignorance of others?

Some Public Service officials need to update their academic qualifications data base so as to cater for some newly-created courses in Uganda’s universities that may be relevant to the Government job structure and the dynamic world we are living in today. The Ministry of Public Service should ensure this.
