Seed six Duncan Mugabe won a battle of teenagers by beating Zimbabwean Takanyi Garanganga 6-3 4-6 6-3 in the first round of the Kenya F1 Futures in Nairobi yesterday. The 19-year-old Ugandan beat his age mate to advance to the next round of the last leg of the East Africa ITF/Futures circuit.

Monica Busesire and Catherine Ahabwe scored a brace each as Western and Bushenyi women league defending champions Kyabugimbi outwitted their neighbours Nyakabanga WFC 6-0 at Nyakabanga on Sunday. But the match between Bunyaruguru and Kicwamba was called off after a downpour could not allow the continuation of the game in the second half.
