IT is true of most successful singers that the second album is the real deal-breaker, the one that will either set up a career or send you back where you came from.

But this maxim is even more pertinent to an artiste like Henry Tigan, whose first album Aboogezi, won him an award as the Best New Artiste at the Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) Award two years ago.

Tigan has since carved a career out of making intelligent music that has a universal appeal. This is evident on his second album Wadawa, which has already spawned hits like the title track, Anegaanye, World of Scandals, Muzudde and Empisa Zzo.

Revellers will get a taste of this when the singer launches the album tonight at Kyadondo Rugby Ground starting at 7:00pm.

The guest artiste will be Trinidad reggae singer, Marlon Asher of the Ganja Farmer fame. Tigan collaborated with Asher on World of Scandals.

Asher’s first song, Ganja Farmer, sparked controversy in his country for it was seen as promoting ganja-smoking, despite being a run-away hit. He later released three more songs, his latest being Fit and Strong.

Other artistes expected to perform include Juliana, Bobi Wine, Renah Nalumansi, Rayvon and Chameleone. Entrance fee is sh10,000 and sh50,000 for VIP.

The singer will hold other shows at Agip Motel in Mbarara on Saturday and Ggaba Beach on Sunday at sh5,000.
