Boxing inaction a disgrace!
EDITOR — We who struggle to run boxing clubs in the country are very disappointed by the work of the normalisation committee. Several committees have been appointed to solve the impasse but none has bothered to establish the facts on the ground.

One of the issues I would love to see the normalisation committee address is the controversial $300 affiliation requirement set by UABF. If even football clubs who get money from gate collections cannot pay FUFA that much, how can the poor boxing clubs afford it?

Charles Egou and his committee should visit every boxing club to see for themselves the suffering of the clubs instead of taking boardroom decisions which do not reflect the reality on the ground. Also, clubs should also be given a share of the gate collections from events.

UOC wrong

EDITOR — The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) intention to hold a mass for Leo Rwabwogo is pure window dressing. UOC knew Rwabwogo’s plight very well but never showed any sympathy.

Roger Ddungu’s executive should come up with a tangible plan of helping former Olympians instead of waiting to honour them after death. A small potion of the IOC grant should be invested specifically for this cause.
