This week’s Cabinet ministerial nomination by President Yoweri Museveni has turned Parliament into a den of gossip.

Even our seasoned team members feel challenged by this feat that will inflame high school teenagers with envy!

The mumbling voices tampering with the silence in the corridors and chambers of Parliament are of disgruntled NRM Hon members asking and wondering why so and so was picked over them or another “more qualified” person. Its real cynicism going down as some of the nominees have been accused of “jumping the queue”.

Could this edgy atmosphere be unsettling some of the nominees who have already hired an army of guards for protection, or are they just testing the special feeling of being guarded?

But the scared nominees should breathe easy to know that some of their colleagues have discovered humour in the ‘crisis’. Their standard salutation is a cheeky “how did you miss the nomination?”
