Pidson Kareire asked her about relationships.

Were you disappointed by him last Saturday on Valentine’s Day?
No, I don’t believe in band wagon love. Must I wait for Valentine’s to prove my love? Besides, I was busy throughout the day; I couldn’t care less where he was. What I know is that love does not wait for Valentine’s Day; any time is love time.

Who is he?
I am not confident enough to announce him publicly because our relationship is still new. I met him through a friend and hope it works out the way we want. I am afraid relationships which begin with fire last for a short time.

What did you fall for in him?
Love is natural; you don’t go out looking for things like nice eyes or beautiful legs and so forth. Once you begin dissecting someone, know that it is lust. And if you persist, the relationship will be shortlived!

But you must have a few set considerations....
No. I am not perfect, so I cannot set conditions. What if the conditions keep failing, don’t you end up not getting a partner? What do you do? Do you go back and revise your conditions, or what?

So you believe it is not easy to get a partner?

It is never easy! Finding someone you are going to stay with for the rest of your life, someone you trust, is difficult. There will always be many eligible partners, but most of them will have poor qualifications.

If you get genuine love, it is a blessing from God! In the process you meet people not ready for marriage.

Some want to hit and run, others are materialistic. As long as their interests are served or fail to work out, you will never see them again.

Why do you think marriages fail?
People go into relationships with very high expectations. For example, girls force their boyfriends to live expensive lifestyles. When things later fail to work out, they quit! If partners lived like brothers and sisters, life would be nice and easy.

No girl will dislike her brother because he has not provided this and that, but many girls today will shamelessly say, “Talina kyavakko!” (he is a miser).

Do you think women are complicated?
Women are like men. The only difference is their reproduction set up. What is needed here is understanding.

Even you; when people don’t understand you, they will either say you are confused or complicated, yet, maybe, they are the ones who are complicated.

So how long would it take for you to understand a partner?

It is a process. Everyday there is something to learn about each other. Some people change; negatively or positively!
