Remember Joseph Masembe? He was the hunky assistant public relations officer at the then Celtel Uganda during the reign of Alloysius Semanda as MD. A very pronounced socialite animal who often made the society pages in the newspapers, Masembe was also a self-styled marketing guru who took part in virtually every promotion in town, steering pageants like Miss MUBS and Miss MUK.
He also once managed Hotel International in Muyenga. As part of Yona’s Ham, he helped to bring British reggae star Maxi Priest and Jamaican dancehall dynamo Red Rat. He worked with practically all the breweries company in town.
Then suddenly, he disappeared off the scene. Word was that he had gone for kyeyo. Well, Masembe is back from his escapades and is already painting the town red. We hear he is an independent marketing consultant and has already handled a couple of high profile events including the recent Horse Mountain Wine launch were he excited the females.
We are not yet sure whether he is here to find a girl for life, joining the mushrooming telecom sector or just passing through. Watch this space.
