EVERY shilling is the beginning of a new fortune. You need money to make money. So we need to start saving every shilling.
Eat your own food
Pack a lunch and make dinner at home. Avoid eating out unnecessarily. The cheapest food in Kampala costs sh1,000, that is sh20,000 a month assuming 20 working days. Assuming you prepare a meal of irish potatoes, beef and greens every day, you will not spend more than sh5,000.
Do not waste energy
Do errands on the way to work. Do not make a lot of single trips. In the house, turn off lights, televisions and computers, iron clothes in bulk and use the water heater sparingly.
Do not waste time
Do not debate about being frugal, start today and build on it, whether it is making your own lunch or writing down what you spend.
