Remember Mowzey Radio and Weasel’s launch of the Nyambura Album at Gaba beach? The duo promised to pay a year’s school fees for any child who sang their songs perfectly. Up stepped a boy from Makindye Boarding Primary School.

The lad put up such a good show that the equally impressed artistes agreed to pay sh540,000 as fees for a year!

According to the mother of the boy, the only money she got was an offer from their manager, Jeff, who gave her sh10,000 for ‘airtime’ to contact them the following day.

One month on and she is threatening to squeeze the dime out of the singing duo in court! However, Weasel says the woman was paid all the money a week after the pledge was made.

“She received all the money from our home in Najjanankumbi,” he said. “If she goes to court, we are ready.” We wonder, who is fooling who?
