THE Nile Special ‘Sink the Black’ national pool championship produced two more regional champions and four qualifiers as action continued in Buganda region.

Julius Segawa emerged the champion in Masaka after a 2-1 victory over Asuman Bukenya in the final held in Masaka.

Bukenya twice conceded a two-shot penalty with his opponent remaining with three balls to pocket in the first game as musicians Priscilla, Cindy and Bella entertained the crowd.

Segawa had earlier on failed to utilise the penalty calls but eventually rode his luck and pocketed the black ball before his opponent.

The second game began almost like the first with Bukenya conceding three penalty calls which his opponent failed to utilise and he recovered to level the match at 1-1.

In the last game, Bukenya again conceded a costly penalty after the break shot that Segawa took advantage of to sink six of his seven balls.

Having pocketed only four balls at that time, Bukenya opted for a defensive approach which failed to ensure his survival. The finals will be held in Kampala next month.

Cash and pool tables will be given to the top performers in the finals.
