I have one testicle. Will I have children?
Dear Doctor,
Nine years ago, I was sick, had an operation and lost one testicle. But I still function well. My worry is, will I be able to have a baby?
Francis

Dear Francis
Our testes make sperms and produce the hormone testosterone, which is important for all the second sexual characteristics that we see in men. They include the deep voice, beard hair, sexual desire and other things.
A single testis can still do these things. It can produce enough of the hormone for you to live completely as a man. It can also produce enough sperms for you to get a family as you would like. This should not worry you. You are most likely to be fertile, even with one testicle.
