IT is not common for one to host two heads of state on a country farm. It was, therefore, double victory for Kampala businessman, John Texas when he hosted Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete and President Yoweri Museveni at his farm in Akakoma, Rushere, Kiruhura district.

Apparently, Kikwete who was in town for the Smart partnership conference, had been invited over to Museveni’s private country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura.

The president together with his wife, Janet, invited their guest and his wife, to tour Texas’ 300-acre farm of chicken, Friesian cows and goats as an example of the fruits of government efforts to transform Uganda from subsistence to commercial farming.

Museveni donated a hatchery to Texas who produces over 10,000 eggs a week. We hear, Texas is so over the moon with excitement that he has not tired of telling the story.
