Sheraton’s Paradise Grill and Terrace was last week awash with layers of blue and white, the distinct colours for the Oktoberfest celebrations.

Oktoberfest, which has not been held for the past nine years, has a long tradition in Germany. The fest marks the marriage of The Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Von Sachsen-Hildurghause in October 1810 that lasted five days all over Munich.

Beer flooded the Paradise Grill and Terrace. The food was excellent, German delicacies like whole glazed ham and imported assorted cheeses were on the menu.

With James Rattos, the F&B manager’s ingenuity, hotel management had outstanding outfit. Most of the guests were European, but with Moonberg as sponsors- Laban Musoke the marketing manager and team were in attendance and so was Isaac Mulindwa of the defunct PAM fame.

To add the cherry on the icing, a three-man Band from Germany kept the guests entertained with traditional repertoire.
