CHARLES Waisswa was a one-man wrecking machine for Tornado as they destroyed their colleagues Tornado B by seven wickets in the national Premier cricket league at Lugogo.
For the loss of just 15 runs, the opening bowler took an eye-popping eight wickets as Tornado B were dismissed for an embarrassing 32 runs in just 16.4 overs.
The contest was over there and then, with Tornado’s response having only academic relevance, and was confirmed eight overs into their chase.
Waiswa had threatened to clean out Tornado B’s batting attack all by himself after claiming the first five wickets. Frank Nsubuga then spared Tornado B the shame by dismissing John Mpande, their second highest scorer with seven runs.
Cyrus Kibuuka Musoke raced to a team-best 8 off 28 before Waiswa resumed his demolition job for his sixth wicket. Then Nsubuga took Tornado’s eighth and his second, after which Waisswa took over the day’s show completely.
