NAADS hotline should be broadcast on local radio stations

NAADS has been marrred by numerous corruption scandals, abuse of office and negligence, right from the NAADS secretariat, down to districts and subcounties!

Recently, the NAADS secretariat launched hotlines through which farmers can raise their concerns over the implemetation of the programme. The hotlines were not well popularised to reach the intended targets. The information was published only in the print media which rural farmers hardly have access to or understand.

The hotline should have been relayed in all media channels, including the local FM radios that broadcast in vernacular.
The same information should be directed to an independent body like the IGG and not the NAADS secretariat which has a stake in the NAADS implementation.

We have seen poor farmers’ money being swindled with impunity. We would like to see a programme that transforms subsistence farmers to commercial ones.
