Pay out all the landlords

EDITOR—If any law regarding land in Buganda and Uganda is to be meaningful, that law will have to candidly address the wrongs of the 1900 Buganda agreement.

EDITOR—If any law regarding land in Buganda and Uganda is to be meaningful, that law will have to candidly address the wrongs of the 1900 Buganda agreement.

The kind of law I am talking about will have to buy out the landlords on whose land the majority of the people of Buganda live and enable the wanainchi get titles to their holdings.

The other alternative is to nationalise land such that all people are judged on the same rate as citizens.

Short of this, the Land Act will remain a thorny issue.
