INVADING A WOMAN'S TERRITORY

By Ernest Bazanye

IN life, we have two kinds of situations. We have Calm and Storm. Calm is defined as the period of deceptive peace before Storm strikes. We must always be ready for Storm and, periods of Calm should be used to plan, prepare and equip ourselves for the coming chaos and not to deceive ourselves that everything is always going to be alright; or making excuses to continue lounging around, scratching our bellies in the sunlight while everything collapses into chaos around us.
Take Christmas dinner, for example.

A massive family gathering involves a lot of work and no amount of pre-production can forestall all emergencies, so you know at some point some doodoo will be hitting the fan. There will be a delay in the kitchen because this went wrong or that went bad or the other malfunctioned.

At that point, the children will start complaining and squealing impatiently that they are hungry and want to eat. Now, you who considers yourself a real man, where do you think your place is?

In the kitchen fighting the battles that need to be fought? Or standing alongside the squealing children?

Gentlemen, forget this nonsense about, simanyi men do not go to the kitchen.

A man does what needs to be done.
