Mbire houses Gadaffi

WHEN a man who is as sensitive about his personal security and wellbeing as Col. Muammar Gadaffi, ignores a plush hotel and decides that your house is more comfortable for him to sleep for his entire four days’ visit in Uganda, there must be something truly special about it.

WHEN a man who is as sensitive about his personal security and wellbeing as Col. Muammar Gadaffi, ignores a plush hotel and decides that your house is more comfortable for him to sleep for his entire four days’ visit in Uganda, there must be something truly special about it.

Such a house is billionaire Charles Mbire’s multi-million dollar mansion in Nakasero. Sources say the Libyan leader was mind-blown by the exquisite look of Mbire’s lavish residence, its secure and vantage location and lush green compound. Mbire, arguably the richest man in Uganda, reportedly had his mansion refurbished, refurbished and redesigned recently by Rouche Bou Bou, world renowned home designers from France, at a cost we can only imagine goes through the roof.

Gadaffi apparently swooped in with his security detail, domestic staff, and took over the premises. We hear Mbire and his family have been staying in Serena Hotel throughout Gadaffi’s stay. Mbire, however, had the liberty to return to his home where we hear he interacted freely with the Libyan leader and President Yoweri Museveni who called in every so often. Yet this is not the first time Gadaffi has stayed at Mbire’s residence.

Snoops confirm that the Libyan leader has in fact stayed at Mbire’s residence during previous visits to Uganda, because apparently, the two are bosom buddies.

It’s no wonder his tenure at Mbire’s residence was reportedly free-of-charge, despite his well documented affluence. In return, we hear, Mbire is normally accorded near-presidential hospitality on his visits to Libya. Not bad for being a billionaire, huh?
