Impounded fuel missing
LUWEERO-Hundreds of litres of diesel, which the security officers recovered during an operation, have disappeared. The fuel, believed to have been siphoned from graders and other construction machinery being used to repair the Kawempe-Kafu road, was intercepted by the district internal security officer (DISO) and the local administration Police on September 19, 2007. The fuel, which was packed in jerrycans, was kept in the DISO’s office, but was later transferred to an unknown location. When asked about the whereabouts of the fuel, the DISO, Lt. Edris Lwese, said: “Talk to the district special branch officer, Sekyebwa, if you want information.” Sekyebwa could not be reached for a comment.
