A Laptop is handy, but its use can be restrictive because its battery needs to be charged from a direct power outlet. But with a laptop car power cable, you can recharge the battery from your car. A laptop car cable gets its power from the car’s cigarette lighter socket.

Cosmas Ojara of Xtreme Computers, Kampala Road says: “The advantage of a laptop car power cable is that you can use your laptop when you are travelling or in the field.” He adds that at half ignition, the laptop can run for six to 13 hours.

It is important to note, however, that the unit will shut down automatically when the car battery voltage drops below 10 volts.

Hope Businge of Nware Computer Company, Kyaggwe Road, says: “Laptop power cables come in different brands like Toshiba, Acer, IBM and hp.

Be sure to buy the type specified for your laptop.” The price ranges between sh100,000 and sh150,000, depending on the type and place one purchases it.
