The Rev. Can. Grace Kaiso, the secretary-general of the Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC), has celebrated 31 years of service. “I feel greater desire to serve the Lord each day that passes,” Kaiso said during the party at Rest Gardens in Bweyogerere on Saturday. At the same event, Kaiso and his wife, Christine, marked 25 years in marriage. Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala praised him for playing a big role in promoting ecumenism in Uganda. “He is fearless and respectful. At UJCC, we always send him to various offices and he does not disappoint us,” he said. The Uganda Bible Society’s Simon Peter Mukhama said: “While at the Bugolobi Church of Uganda, Kaiso taught us to take the ministry into our homes and encouraged us to get married.”

Kagonyera calls for morality

The chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera, has called upon parents and teachers to instill discipline among students. “Academicians and parents have an obligation to turn students into better citizens. The moral values of students can be transformed by both parents and teachers to save our society from moral decadence,” Kagonyera said on Saturday. He was speaking during the installation of a new president for the Rotary Club of Kololo, Jackson Kazi Muhwezi, who replaced Simon Sagala Mulindwa. Kagonyera noted: “We should find a lasting solution to the cultural and moral decadence of students who retaliate when punished at school. The quality of education will improve when student’s behaviours change positively.” He was reacting to Police report published by Saturday Vision attributing most school fires to students who were avenging their dismissal.

Man’s body recovered
Wakiso
The Police have recovered a body of a man in his 20s in Nabweru sub-county. The unidentified man was discovered by residents near Highway Primary School in Maganjo village last week.The Police took his body to Mulago Hospital.
