The end of the year is fast approaching and with it comes the endless parade of weddings, parties and all other forms of merry making. So once again, we will look at party outfits but this time with a dash of print and bold textural patterns that are unquestionably inspired by all things African!

For the head usher
So you are the head usher at your cousin’s wedding and everything must be perfect….including your outfit….it must score at least a solid nine on the glam scale and a strong one hundred on the hassle free scale…what to do? A visit to your seamstress with this on hand will solve your problems.

The outfit
A deep turquoise blue bustier dress with enough pizzazz for the wedding and yet it modestly skims the knees freeing you to move about and fulfil your duties.

TIP
A band of intense printed or patterned fabric around your midriff together with boning can obliterate a fuller tummy and slim your look.

Ladies with a fuller bust can add straps to conceal their bra straps.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Taffeta, satin, linen, kanga and bazaar are just a few examples of fabric you can use.

Turquoise blue: 1½-2 m (double width fabric) Printed or patterned fabric: ½ -1m (you might also consider embroidered fabric).
