Saddam’s death might spark off more chaos!

SIR — George Bush and Tony Blair have finally got rid of Saddam Hussein in the guise of Iraqi justice. We have been fooled again that the death of Saddam is the work of Iraqis who have made a sovereign decision.

SIR — George Bush and Tony Blair have finally got rid of Saddam Hussein in the guise of Iraqi justice. We have been fooled again that the death of Saddam is the work of Iraqis who have made a sovereign decision.

Saddam was tried in a kangaroo court sanctioned by the US and hurriedly executed on Idd day.

I am opposed to capital punishment and i am surprised Tony Blair kept silent about it, knowing well that the European Union does not condone capital punishment. Bush no doubt is dancing because his enemy is dead.

Saddam’s execution is the second gravest mistake the US president and British prime minister, after the invasion of Iraq.

The psychological repercussions will haunt the Bush family and nation forever. Bush and Blair are oblivious of the fact that a lot of civil strife may arise from the killing of one man.

The result will be the deaths of very many innocent civilians. Saddam was a dictator and there are many dictators. If we went on a wanton spree of eliminating them, we would never end!

It is really unfortunate that at this time in history, the world has had the stewardship of George Bush and Tony Blair.

I hope that soon the departure of Bush and Blair from the political arena will result in peace for the people of Iraq.
