CELTEL East Africa has paid a $9,000 (about sh15.8m) pledge for sponsorship of the East African Law Society annual conference.

Mark Ongom, Celtel Uganda’s sales director, explained: “The East Africa Law Society annual conference took place at Speke Resort, Munyonyo. We are honouring our promise and are proud to be associated with them.”

Justina Ntabgoba, the public relations manager, said the sponsorship was in line with the recently-launched ‘Celtel one network,’ which connects customers across East Africa.

Bruce Kyerere who received the cheque on behalf of the law society said the association unites over 7,000 individuals and four national bar associations.
