Mujuzi’s rule on textbooks
Rakai
Kyotera Member of Parliament Lt. Pius Mujuzi (above) has warned teachers against giving out textbooks to pupils to take home. Mujuzi said pupils can easily lose the books, thereby denying other pupils a chance to use them. He was handing over 100 textbooks to the Parents and Teachers Association chairman of Kisunku Primary School recently. He said the books had to remain in the school library. Among the textbooks he gave out were those of Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, English and teachers’ guides.

Special latrines for the disabled
APAC
The district education Officer, Billy Okunyu, has advised educational institutions to erect special latrines for children with disabilities. Okunyu told headteachers at scout hall recently, that toilet facilities for girls and boys with disabilities should have enough space to ease movement. He said a latrine stance for children with disabilities should measure 1500mm(5ft) and 1200mm(4ft). Okunyu said the latrine entry should be a ramp for easier movement especially for those in wheel chairs.
