Nakaseero vendors reward Lukwago

MP Erias Lukwago was on Monday given a basketful of fruits and chicken for fathering twins. The chairperson of vendors, Ali Kayanja Rwere, amidst ululations said: “You did a great job when you fathered those twins. Not anyone can accomplish that.”

Lukwago was part of an entourage of MPs on the local government accounts committee who were on a tour of Nakasero Market to assess the wrangles between contractor Sheila Investments Limited and the vendors. The other MPs looked on open-mouthed. Overwhelmed, Lukwago lifted two cocks high and bowed incessantly to the vendors as a sign of respect.

He received three big bunches of bananas, four locally-bred cocks and a big basket of fruits and vegetables. The vice-chairperson of the vendors, Winfred Kyanjo, added: “this is not a bribe but a token of appreciation.”
