Two pugilists get medal assurance

UGANDA was assured of two bronze medals ahead of today’s Africa Boxing Championships semifinals in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

UGANDA was assured of two bronze medals ahead of today’s Africa Boxing Championships semifinals in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
Bantamweight Attanus Mugerwa and lightweight Sharif Bogere qualified for the semifinals yesterday - where losers walk home with bronze medals.
Mugerwa overwhelmed Niger’s Abdul Soumana, forcing the referee to stop the contest in the third round.
But Bogere, despite losing to Moroccan Hamuza Kramou on points, still qualified for the semifinals after winning his first three group A fights.
