ARUA RDC Alfred Omony Ogaba on Thursday blasted opposition leaders for what he called ingratitude to the NRM government.

Speaking at the poorly-attended 20th NRM anniversary celebrations at Arua Police grounds, Ogaba said MPs Kassiano Wadri, Alex Onzima and John Arumadri should have attended the function to appreciate the good things the NRM government has done.

“These MPs are not grateful. They should have been here to thank the NRM government for lifting them through the introduction of multiparty politics,” Ogaba said.

Less than 100 people attended the function and unconfirmed reports indicated that opposition MPs mobilised the people not to attend.

The forces that had mounted the parade occupied much of the ground as only a handful of people stood a distance away.

Ogaba highlighted the achievements the NRM government had scored in the last 20 years in health, education, roads and telecommunications.
