Fox Odoi survives CPS goons

FOR people out there who have been harbouring the feeling that the conditions of cells in Kampala’s Central Police Station (CPS) are grim, then you are mistaken.

FOR people out there who have been harbouring the feeling that the conditions of cells in Kampala’s Central Police Station (CPS) are grim, then you are mistaken.

So says presidential legal aide Fox Odoi about his being hosted overnight in CPS. On Tuesday, he talked about the conditions, saying they are far from hell.

“No, it is nice in there and no one should fear going there,” he told his State House friends. “There are mats and blankets donated by the Red Cross,” he said. Odoi looked kempt, a far away picture from the scruffy man most of his friends had expected to meet.

Before going to CID headquarters, he had woken up from the comfort of his mat bedding, brushed his teeth and managed a bath before sprucing himself into a white casual shirt, a pair of khaki slacks and leather sandals.

But of course Odoi had no choice. He knew the media were waiting for him and the last thing he wanted to add to his misery was a picture of a haggard and scruffy looking Odoi splashed in the following day’s papers.
