BARCLAYS Bank has donated sh1.3m and items worth sh3m to Daughters of Charity Home in Nsambya to help the home pay tuition fees and other expenses this term.
The Shilling for Shilling Initiative is part of Barclays’ employee community programme where staff fundraise and the bank doubles the amount of money raised.
The money is given to the charity organisation of their choice.
Barclays’ staff collected sh2.1m, which was doubled by the bank to sh4.3m.
While handing over the donation, Nick Mbuvi, the managing director of Barclays Bank, said, “We are partnering with Daughters of Charity for the fifth year to harness the passion of our employees for community involvement.”
