CHURCH of Uganda Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi has said the expelled former Bishop Christopher Ssenyonjo could be reconsidered if he repented.

“Repentance means reversing one’s misdeeds to the righteous ones. If Ssenyonjo repents and accepts to denounce the other belief, he can be reconsidered into the Church of uganda,” Orombi said.

Ssenyonjo, the former overseer of West Buganda Diocese, was last week excommunicated from the Church of Uganda, after abandoning his ministry to form the Charismatic Church of Uganda.

Orombi was presiding over celebrations of the African Bible College of Uganda at Lubowa, Wakiso district on Saturday.

Without mentioning if Ssenyonjo will retain his title of Bishop when reconsidered, Orombi said, “There is no penalty attached if Ssenyonjo fails to repent.”
