Tomorrow is a public holiday to mark President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing-in for his third five-year term.

State minister for public service Patrick Okumu Ringa yesterday said, “Friday is a very important day in the history of our country. It is a public holiday to enable our people at all levels to concentrate on and celebrate the swearing-in of President Museveni.”

“We want to ensure that our nationals and other people living or working in Uganda are informed in time so that they can get prepared,” Okumu said.

“Uganda is a land of holidays: about 12 holidays, literally a holiday per month, excluding weekends,” he said, laughing.
