Arsenal will be back!

SIR — In spite of the agonising Champions League final loss to Barca last week, the gunners’ prospects are at their brightest.

Captain Thierry Henry has just inked a new contract that will keep him at Highbury (sorry Ashburton Groove) for the next four seasons. This means the imperious frenchman is around to inspire people like Walcott, Van Persie, Fabregas and Eboue.

The coffers of the club are bulging by the day. Moving to the new state-of-the-art 60,000-seater Emirates stadium will significantly swell the revenue to unprecedented levels.

Reaching the Champions finals brought a lot of money.

Wenger now has more money to strengthen the squard — and trust him to pluck two or three superstars this summer. If necessary, he can now afford to out-bid rival clubs for world class players! That Arsenal is run as a PLC secures the gunners’ future.

Individuals will come and go, but with the proven prudent management style, the the now elite club side can only get better.

Fallen serie A giants SS Lazio-Rome and AS Roma are classic examples of the danger in building the fortunes of a club around a super-rich owner — it is just not sustainable!

To borrow Arnold charzenegger’s line from The Terminator, “Arsenal’ ll be back” ...and with a bang! Be afraid, all thee Premier League and Champions League rivals!
